Meet Samson!
Our holiday break has been busy, busy, busy! We've traveled to Wisconsin, Michigan and back to the Cities all in a matter of weeks. Along the way we decided that we were ready to get a new puppy and started our search on Petfinder. After losing Granola our house felt especially empty and we were anxious to have someone new to greet us as we come home. Our search landed us in Zimmerman, MN where we fell in love with Samson. We visited him at his foster home and wanted desperately to bring him home right then, but our application had to be processed, so we had to wait three long days, and finally on Sunday we came home. We are so excited to have him, and while puppy training can be challenging, we feel blessed to have such an adorable warm smile and fuzzy little body in our lives. We hope he likes us as much as we like him. If kisses are any indication, we're fairly sure he does.
Samson, believe it or not, is a rat terrier/corgi mix. We don't think he looks like either breed, but sure is independently adorable- and for all of our MN readers who think Samson is too good to be true, he has 5 brothers and sisters who are also ready for adoption on petfinder.com- check them out! They desperately need good homes.
So far we've determined these features:
- Samson loves treats. He'll do anything for a little piece of canine
carry-out.
- Samson loves to be swaddled and cuddled like a baby. The first place he
goes is our laps. He loves being wrapped up and carried around. We're
pretty sure its because everything is so new to him, but we like to think
its because he can't get enough of us.
- He really likes squeaky toys and tags. He'd take the tag over the actual
plush toy any day.
To see Samson in action, check out our little movie.
We can't wait to learn more about him! We're sure he'll be an excellent fit in our ever-growing family and we look forward to sharing more of him with all of you. We can't wait to teach him lots of fun tricks and introduce him to the baby when it arrives. So for us, this holiday season was especially wonderful. We were able to spend time with family all across the Midwest, enjoy the company of friends and neighbors and welcome a new puppy into our home. So far 2009 we'd have to say that 2009 is started out as the best year of our lives, and we're sure come May, we'll only confirm the sentiment.
